Red Light

*Red Light*

Long-Faced Johns pull up and see a
Strawberry District.
They pedal to their destination, but soon cross the line.
This apparent Cherry-Red District suddenly changes to a
Flashy Red Light.

This joint leaves many a fantasy Crimsoned and Clubbed,
They were expecting the full treatment
And only leave with a Rub.
Look Man, No Hands!
Just Look, Man, but No Hands!
She works that pole with no hands,
And If you Try to lend a helping hand:
You’re lucky to
Just get banned.
If her Ass even Thinks it feels a hand,
Your Butt will
Soon get Canned.
She looks revved and ready,
So now you’re geared to go,
You can tip hundreds for weeks,
And She Will Still Say, “No.”

You’re so blinded by her Headlights,
You can’t even see the Unchanging Red Light.

Now we may have to Pay for Toll,
High Speed Makes us Pay the Cops,
Some Pay for an Open Road,
But Why Would You Pay to Stop?

Give That Man A Hand

From Art of Mind II: All-In , Available Now on Amazon.com and all online retailers

*Give That Man A Hand*

The guy is out here trying…
More than you’ll ever know…
You can’t tell but he’s probably dying,
So just listen before you go.

Travel-Bound citizens pretend they can’t listen…so without the aid of this noisy Red-Line Train Station: They block out the sound of The Man with the Golden Voice…because they’re afraid
He might ask for a handout…
A little love would substitute for money…
So it’s ok — gone and put your hand out.

He’s broke and probably quite hungry…
But this is more than just a “pity cause…”
Just give him what he’s earned,
And that’s at least a round of applause.

I am not encouraging the donation of a dollar,
Though that would be kind, too…
I’m saying to look past his dirty wardrobe:
And Give the Man his Due.

He’s jamming now but he’s really down and out…
He’d appreciate change and a rousing ovation…but he could Really use a Friendly Hand Out.

Someday you too may need a hug…
So let’s board This Train of
Peace & Love.

You don’t need to give a scrappy hand out…
To shake a hand, applaud, or
Put your Hand Out.

Wellesley College Tribute

*Wellesley College*

Sisterhood’s the cornerstone of Wellesley,
This fam’ makes the grade via A-listers,
Dear school by the lake, your beauty tells thee,
Each class a color, each soul with sisters.
Colors unite as white clouds to the Blue,
Wellesley sisters, your true colors suit you,
They Scream from Tunnels to tell your story,
Singing at Houghton helps yell your glory.
A center world-figures have called their home,
Clinton, Sawyer, and Dahl are professors
of Wellesley’s guidance from great professors
Who’ve led Wellesley to a league of its own:
Where women aren’t ministered unto,
They edify the world they leap onto.

Tufts University Poem

From Alma Mater Vol. 2: The Northeast
Available Now for only 99 cents!

AlmaMater_Northeast-Final

*Tufts University*

There is a light at the top of the hill,
And this light shines Brown & Blue,
There are candles in ritual—held for the new,
Welcome to Tufts & our Jumbo zeal.

We are the light at the top of the hill,
This land of new ivy is reaped by a few,
This power in Mass was heaped by the true;
They formed Tufts and Tufts reforms still.

A century count of one & a half—
Accounts for the history that we hold,
And this bond that no other school can grasp.

Other Ivies behold what the Jumbos hold—
This fearless light that they cannot have,
Eclipsing the spotless halls they were told.

Tufts defies time like the Gravity Stone,
The ties from Tuftonia remain each day,
Our bids on the times helped vend eBay,
Keeping Victoria’s secret was Raymond’s loans.

Tufts is the opportunity our fathers have shone
Onto each class so that Jumbos can slay
The dark uncertainties that stand in the way
Of promise that great Jumbos have shown.

The promise of Tufts is one that is kept
By each class that raises the candle
For the Tufts name and all of its depth.

Tufts gives you a chance, so come take a gamble,
By the end of day one, and once you have slept,
You will carpe diem with a brand new handle.

Run nude in the Quad and have a Spring Fling,
As long as your roommate is gone of course,
Sing along to the music until you go hoarse,
Cheer Tufts’s sounds & let the good times ring!

The goodness that Tufts continues to bring,
Like fondue nights and stir-fry on course,
Sustains our fight to stay the course,
Then climb the hill and to Tufts U. cling.

On the famed hill you will find a cannon,
That like our A Cappella—soothes the beast,
By providing the space to paint by the gallon.

The story of our pursuits for the hill won’t cease,
This light on the hill helped us write the canon,
And on this hill we have each found peace.

Smith College Tribute

*Smith College*

She sings a snaring song.
A song not to dance to,
But dedicated to gliding forward.

She sings a mind-altering song for
Those who were always told it is unsafe
To dive the waters.

She sings of writers and activists,
First Ladies and authors who
Went With the Wind…
Until in the new place she has now found:
Her name is read beyond this mailbox,
Proving she arrived &
She belongs.

She sings a song.

A song of Ivy Days radiating perennial blue
In the firmament of the North she resides.
A song rising like Delphinium Blue Birds
that echoes,
We are not flowers;
We are
The Earth.

A song shared with her six brilliant sisters
Whose sibling rivalries have pushed her off the stairs
Into the Illumination waiting in the night.

She sings her song
Without sorrow,
How sweetly it sounds
of tomorrow.

She sings to her sisters, the mothers, your daughters,
She sings to the world,
I have made it here,
On her own, that’s the song
Of a Pioneer.

Job Security + Workplace Insecurity =…

From Art of Mind II: All In Available Now on Amazon.com and all online book retailers.

*Job Security + Workplace Insecurity =…*

If she has provided for shelters in need — with an ungenerous salary, but a generous heart…

If she has volunteered to help many foundations — in order to rebuild a better community…

If she has selected a giving profession — in order to help touch — and heal lives…

If she has given all of herself — for every minute — of every day — long after her shift is through…

Would all that cancel out the time she posed nude in that “inappropriate” magazine?

Probably not…

That wouldn’t set a good example.

UMass Boston Tribute

From Alma Mater Vol. 2: The Northeast
Available Now for only 99 cents!

*UMass Boston*

A flood of Blue & White lives here by the harbor,
As Downtown Boston overflows with ardor,
We keep—this city that walks afloat
With drunken sailors who rock the boat.
Members of the UMass Sailing Crew
Glide Broadway and then all through
The pubs and each part of Titletown—
Waves of students deemed tidal bound.
A city that’s left other towns in ruins,
Cheers to the Patriots-Sox-Celtics & Bruins,
May the starkness of our classes allay,
In March when we toast to St. Patrick’s Day.
The Boston globe sets free without bail,
And those who walk take the Freedom Trail,
The further we sail, the more we deepen:
As Blue & White lights from Boston’s Beacon.

That Dirty Hobo has been out in the cold too long…

He’s Numb.

That Filthy Slut has been Slammed so many times…

She can’t Feel Anything.

As the nation becomes more Politically Correct with Every Passing Year:

I guess some just aren’t worth the Coverage.

Amherst College Poem

*Amherst College*

Amherst professors render the wide realm,
For uncaged sunshine to sharply traverse,
Deciduousness home flown from the elm,
Discussions where learning and Jeffs converse.
The plays on new words one cannot rehearse,
Just hew at dim views, then view reduction,
Muse Sabrina springs original verse,
A singing college—belting eruption,
Of lights to the world—led by instruction.

Williams College

The biggest faction of the Little Three,
Williams is home to thought resurrections,
With Ephs sweeping cause with a liberty,
Glass ceilings break from their great reflections.

The Arts and Sciences is still our zeal,
To stay #1 is the Williams pledge,
This mountaintop leaves donuts as our meal,
Friday in October atop Stony Ledge.

Winter Studies hold windborne collections,
Free-thinkers of Williams help rule our field,
A college named best by the elections,
Building names like President James Garfield.

Signs of rich designations are what we write,
The coloration is Purple, Gold, and White.
