Somewhere in America, somebody is having their 21^st birthday. They will not wait until the weekend, they will celebrate today. What’s so great about turning 21? What is it about this day that feels more like a holiday…more so than any other birthday? The answer can be found in six small words: You no longer have to wait. Yes, when you turn 21, the world is officially your oyster and now there is nothing you cannot do. Freedom is yours. And so you celebrate it…with it. 21 is one of those numbers that is synonymous with college, for it is when the full college experience can be lived without any stealth or fake IDs. And after 21 more days poetry lovers and college enthusiasts: you will no longer have to wait either.

On March 3, 2015, 100 Colleges of the Northeast will be celebrated in the second installment of the series that Kirkus Reviews calls “A Thoroughly Unique Poetry Project” with “A variety of delightfully unexpected poetic forms.” It is a collection that is all things college: Educational, Interactive, Experimental, and of course: Fun.

What if I told you that it isn’t just the stars and celebrities that are awarded? That aside from the Grammy’s and Oscars, there are thousands upon thousands who are awarded every single day? Citizens in the prime of their youth who have been awarded admission into a dream school and subsequently into the life they’ve always dreamt of. There are college students who every single day are awarded the opportunity to not only live the life they’ve always envisioned, but to share this life with others. Maybe you’ve been that person. Maybe you are that person. Maybe you want to go back and relive it all. Or maybe you are about to be that person. Whether or not you’ve received this award or know someone who has or currently is, Alma Mater is a series of poetry that celebrates this life through every major university in the country. In 22 days we will share the experience of dream schools like Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and so many others that each has their own story, and each with their own spirit. 100 schools will be featured come March 3rd. Some schools are much-talked about and heard of. Others, may be a bit more obscure. But I assure you, every one of these schools is the dream school of someone. Maybe that someone is you.
