Your college drinking stories:
Live them while you can!

Because
We read about opinions, sports, the arts…
and everything Chico,
But where, oh where,
Did our drinking stories go?
We read up on the news, the columns, events…
and all the features of Chico,
But where, oh where,
Did our drinking stories go?

Over the cheapest drink specials in state,
Cats tell one another about past high jinks,
With high animation, Wildcats narrate,
Everybody chimes in—and pitches in—to buy drinks.

They fill up their cups—and also Ivy Street,
And with new & old friends they relax at kickbacks,
Chico throws parties that make Wildcats streak,
The byline of each story is “When Animals Attack.”

Like the Esplanade mansion, these nights Bid Well,
When they start with wild ones off to make headlines,
As college’s best paper, Orion’s done well,
But omits the best stories: must be the deadlines.

Because
We read about opinions, sports, the arts…
and everything Chico,
But where, oh where,
Did our drinking stories go?
We read up on the news, the columns, events…
and all the features of Chico,
But where, oh where,
Did our drinking stories go?

You only live once in Yolo Hall,
And it’s not every day you see the Pumpkin Drop,
College is an open-ended story to all,
Every night has news that breaks, but does not drop.
New drinking records are never reported,
Because they’re sure to be broken again next week,
Though these buzzing stories may be a bit distorted,
We’ll go on making new ones to remember each week.

To New Drinking Stories, We Go!
Even if not a one of them will make newsfeeds,
We still will go out to make new stories:
You only live once, so chase your own leads.
